Customize settings and security

Settings control your profile, password, display preferences, and account options.

Profile

Update your display name or email from Settings.

Password

Use a strong password. CalBudget requires stronger passwords for account security.

Appearance

Choose a theme, transaction logos, insights, payday celebrations, brand colors, and keyboard shortcuts.

Account deletion

Deleting your account removes budget records that belong to your user record. This cannot be undone.

Settings areas

Settings keep account details, security, billing, and display preferences in one place.

AreaUse it for
ProfileName and email details.
PasswordPassword updates and account security.
AppearanceTheme, colors, logos, and visual preferences.
BillingPayment method and subscription management.
AccountAccount deletion and account-level actions.

Update your profile

  1. Open the profile menu.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Update the field you want to change.
  4. Save the change.
  5. Refresh or reopen the menu if you need to confirm the updated display.

Security basics

Use a strong password and keep your email address current. If you delete your account, records tied to that user are removed and the action cannot be undone.

Appearance preferences

Appearance settings are personal. Change theme, transaction logo behavior, insights, celebrations, and keyboard shortcuts based on how you like to plan. If a visual option makes the calendar harder to scan, turn it off and keep the view simple.

Settings checklist

  • Profile information is current.
  • Password is strong and private.
  • Billing is reachable from Settings when payment action is needed.
  • Keyboard shortcuts match how you use the app.
  • Appearance choices make the calendar easier to scan.

If a setting feels confusing

Change one setting at a time, then return to the calendar. This makes it easier to see what changed and undo the preference if it does not help your planning.

Payment method reminders

If your account is on trial and no payment method is on file, CalBudget can call attention to Billing from the profile area. Follow that path when you want uninterrupted access after the trial ends.

Keep settings boring

Good settings do not need constant attention. Once profile, billing, security, and appearance are right, most planning should happen from the calendar. Return to Settings when your account details change or when the interface needs to feel easier to scan.
